24. Carver County, Chanhassen

Librarians' info desk is low, with chairs for patrons--it looks like a bank! Free coffee in lobby; lots of study rooms and a couple of conference rooms, all in use at 10:30 on a summer weekday morning. Reading room full of natural light and easy chairs.

There's a small parking garage on the left; it was full, so I parked at the grocery store across the street.

  1. This is a newer library for Chanhassen. The old one was a few steps away, in what is now City Hall, I believe. There is also lots of parking on top of the garage.

  2. My gmail said I had a comment on this post, but it's not here. I'll paste it in: "This is a newer library for Chanhassen. The old one was a few steps away, in what is now City Hall, I believe. There is also lots of parking on top of the garage."
I think I noticed the upper level parking, but it was a very hot day; I opted for the paltry shade of a tree at the grocery parking lot. Sorry if I made it sound as if parking is a problem.
I could tell that this was a new library. I didn't do it justice at all. I could blame the heat, but it's probably that this was early in the project, when my goal was simply to visit and document; later, as you may realize, I became much more detailed in my comments. Additions are welcome!

Sorry about the "verification" step; I added it after a rash of spammish comments.
